Discover Deanston
Originally a cotton mill on the banks of the River Teith, Deanston Distillery began its whisky journey in 1965 under the ownership of Brodie Hepburn. Hepburn, a blender also noted for his involvement in creating Tullibardine and Macduff distilleries, recognized the potential of the old mill and the power of the River Teith to produce the malt we know today. By 1966, early production of Old Bannockburn and Teith Mill Scotch had commenced. The distillery continues to welcome new guests to experience the distillery and taste their unique malts.
Present Day
To this day the River Teith is as vital as ever to the production of this incredible whisky. The river is the hydro-energy source that fuels the distillery, showcasing the establishment's commitment to sustainability. The Deanston Distillery Company is currently owned by Distell Group Limited a subsidiary of Heineken N.V, who also own Bunnahabhain Distillery and Tobermory distillery; so they’re in great company!
The Highlands (& Islands)
You will find Deanston Distillery located in Doune, in the Highlands whisky region. It is situated south of Drumbane Distillery and west of Tullibardine Distillery. Looking to visit? It’s only a 45 minute drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Amber Gold
Nose: Heady oak, lemon zest, barley sugar,notes of apple and nutmeg
Palate: Candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey
Finish: Light spice, a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness
